MATERIAL LIST

Hook: Partridge Salar

Thread: Fire Orange

Tail: Brown Hungarian Partridge

Abdomen: Orange Lgartun Stout Silk Floss

Rib: Gold Oval Tinsel

Thorax: Rusty Australian Possum

Hackle: Grey (rear) and Brown (front) Hungarian Partridge

Mount hook, bring thread to the rear and secure a sparse tail of brown partridge. Advance thread to the middle of the shank.

Secure a length of silk floss to the near side of the hook and return thread to the middle of the shank.

Secure a length of gold tinsel to the rear of the hook. Return thread to the forward position.

Wrap floss forward. This is a fishing fly so I am not taking great care to ensure flat body.

Counter rib the tinsel (sorry for the blur!).

Come forward a bit and secure a gray hungarian partridge hackle.

Return the thread to midpoint and then touch dub the possum dubbing to form a scraggly, sparse thorax.

Wrap the partridge.

Advance thread and secure #2 partridge.

To finish: Touch-dub the remaining throax area and the wrap the final partridge hackle. Form a neat head, whip and snip!

This fly fishes best on a slow swing. In small sizes it can be a dandy nymph.
